Our Arts & Healthcare Initiative began at Rapides Regional Medical Center in September, 2003. Since then,
we have implemented many programs serving patients, their families and staff. Our current activities feature an
art gallery in the South Tower where local art is rotated 6 times a year. Thanks to a grant from the Alexandria
Junior League, we are also able to make visits to pediatrics with our art cart artists and clowns.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Puffin Foundation,
Arts & Healthcare will once again be able to offer a performance series at Rapides Regional. Beginning in September,
2011, we will offer a concert once a month featuring a local musician in one of the lobbies of the hospital. Check back
each month to see who is performing and where. These concerts are open to patients, staff and visitors to the hospital.
