Our Arts &
Healthcare Initiative began at Rapides Regional Medical Center in September, 2003. Since then, we have implemented many programs
serving patients, their families and staff. Our current activities feature a performing arts series with various
musicians and dancers sponsored by a grant from the Martin Foundation. We have musicians, poets and artists who make
weekly visits to patients at the bedside. We provide art activities in the Cancer Center and on the Pediatric floor.
During
the month of November, we will feature the art of local artist, Mike Yoist in the new South Tower Art Gallery.
We invite you to visit the lobby of the RRMC
Cancer Center to view art by local artist, Walter Smith during the month of November.
The Dancin' Dames perform the hula in the RW&C Atrium.
Brochures will be out around Dec. 1st for the 3rd annual Arts & Healthcare Doctors’ Day Follies and Art Exhibit.
