Register for 6th Annual Healthcare Professionals Art Exhibit

On March 31, 2012, we will host the opening of our 6th Annual Healthcare Professionals Art exhibit in conjunction with our Follies event. Any local healthcare worker (or a member of your family) can enter the art exhibit. We accept all types of art - painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, crafts, etc. The Exhibit is made possible by generous funding from the National Arts Program Foundation of Malvern, PA. There are both adult and youth categories and cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places. Judging the art this year is photographer, George Long from New Orleans, LA. Winners will be announced Saturday evening, March 31st during the Follies and Art Exhibit event at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center. Then most of the art will be displayed at both the CHRISTUS Cabrini Gallery for Reflection and Healing or the Rapides Regional Art Gallery for the month of April.

Arts & Healthcare receives a grant from the Puffin Foundation!

Arts & Healthcare recently received a $1000 grant from the Puffin Foundation of Teaneck, NJ for their Lobby Performance program. The Puffin Foundation continues the dialogue between art and the lives of ordinary people. The Puffin, once endangered in the northeastern United States, was returned to its native habitats through the efforts of a concerned citizenry. The name of the Foundation is a metaphor for how they perceive their mission in the arts: to join with other concerned groups and individuals to ensure that the arts not merely survive, but flourish at all levels of our society. This generous donation will certainly help Central Louisiana Arts & Healthcare to "flourish" as we are able to bring our live performance series to new healthcare venues in our community. Enter the 6th Annual Arts & Healthcare Art Exhibit - Deadline Feb. 17, 2012

Anyone who works in the healthcare field in Central Louisiana (or a member of your family) is eligible to enter the 6th Annual Arts & Healthcare Art Exhibit. Deadline for entries is Feb. 17, 2012. Art does not have to be turned in until March 24th. It will be displayed at the Follies and Art Exhibit event on Sat., March 31, 2012 where the winners in adult and youth categories will be announced and cash prizes awarded. Art will be on display at the CHRISTUS Cabrini Gallery for Reflection & Healing and the Rapides Regional Art Gallery during the month of April. There is NO FEE to enter.

Arts & Healthcare receives grants from Union Pacific, UPS Foundation, Junior League, and Tunica-Biloxi Tribe and a donation from the Alexandria Business Foundation!

Central Louisiana Arts & Healthcare, Inc. is pleased to announce that they have recently received a grant for $3000 from the Union Pacific Foundation in Omaha, NE, a grant for $5,000 from the UPS Foundation in Atlanta, GA, a grant for $600 from the Junior League of Alexandria and a grant for $750 from the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana. Arts & Healthcare also received a donation from the Alexandria Business Foundation. We are very grateful to these organizations and Foundations for their generous support of our organization. These funds will help to continue our healing arts programs in local healthcare facilities.
