Doctors heal your body and your mind...the arts heal your soul

We are blessed to have two harpists who play at the hospitals. Susan Lenard (left) plays every Christmas and other special days. Lillian Cavin (right) is a radiologist who volunteers once a month at each hospital.

Artist/Photographer, Sherry McDonald is beginning a new project with Friendship House called the Legacy Project...The Art of Memories. She will photograph the clients participating in arts experiences and create a photographic display which will be unveiled during National Alzheimer's Month in 2009. Classical Guitarist, John DeChiaro plays once a month at both hospitals.

Several other visual artists and musicians lend their time and talents to our programs:

Visual artists Terrie Simms, Janet Starn, and Val Denley often volunteer to help with Staff projects and projects at the cancer centers.

Musician Sheri Bennett volunteers in our Palliative Care Unit twice a month.

Pianist, Rodessa Metoyer plays at Cabrini twice a month and high school student, Laura Baronet volunteers her time to play the piano at Cabrini. Pianist, Greg Thompson plays piano at Cabrini every week.
