Our Arts & Healthcare Program began at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in February, 2004. We have offered an on-going series of performances and art exhibits in the hospital lobby, cafeteria, Cancer Center and in the Rehab Gym. The Rehab Gym is a favorite place for performance at Cabrini and we have featured comedians, a magician, a puppeteer, a Gospel group and many others.

Once a week, Artist, Sara Fuhrer facilitates arts activities in the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic and pianist, Greg Thompson plays piano in the Outpatient Center Lobby.

Patients, visitors and staff enjoy visiting the CHRISTUS Gallery for Reflection and Healing where is the art is changed monthly.

Resident poet, Dr. Bill Hedrick shares poetry with a patient

Every Friday from 10 am until noon, Dr. Bill Hedrick visits patients in the CHF Clinic, Palliative Care and in Pediatrics. His visits to Pediatric patients are part of our Pint Sized Poetry Project which is partially funded by the Junior League of Alexandria.

Clowns visit the hospital once a month

Employees at the Power Center create ceramic tiles for the CHRISTUS Healing Garden

By the end of 2008, we hope to have every employee at Cabrini complete an original ceramic tile that will be placed in the Healing Garden in the new Women's Center which will be completed in 2009. We work with employees once a month to create tiles. So far, we have completed 250 of them.

The Dancin' Dames perform the hula in the Outpatient Center lobby. They also visit the Cancer Center and Rehab gym.

Resident Artist, JoAnne Thompson paints and offers art projects in the Cancer Center every Wednesday morning.

Guitarist, John DeChiaro performs at Cabrini once a month.

Be sure to visit the CHRISTUS Cabrini Gallery for Reflection and Healing located on the 1st floor of the Outpatient Center across the hall from Radiology. In November, we will feature the art of Covington based artist, Anne Cicero.

In the Cabrini Cancer Center, we will feature the art of local artist, Margie Tate during the month of November.
